The ION of Scions and The Return of The Invisible Man

So-called "ICE" murders another. Tragic though that fact is, I remain stuck on an invisible ICE murder and how differently it remains to be treated. What could be the reason for such a disparity?

The ION and The Slogan

An ion is a particle that becomes charged when it loses or gains electrons.
In an everyday application, ions matter because they create movement, imbalance, and reactions. An ion becomes charged when something is taken from it or forced onto it. Charged ions don’t stay still; they move, collide, and create reactions. This mirrors how protests erupt after an injustice and parallels how communities feel when state power acts on them; especially violently. Black People in the United States have four centuries of experience with ions.

And scions.

A vampiric scion drains life; an ion becomes charged when something is taken away. The current state of affairs through countless executive orders, a constructionist judiciary and a pusillanimously pussified legislature, has eliminated and drained communities of the systems of safety, stability and dignity (assuming they ever existed in the first place in any substantive way). A salient argument, indeed.

The chant of “ICE Out Now” (ION) has become pervasive as cities in the “US” find themselves increasingly under military occupation. Military occupations that should come as no surprise to anyone with an I.Q. above room temperature. International peril also awaits which will lead to further militarized oppression; and Black People in the United States are in a world of hurt. The ION chant is a charged society reacting to an imbalance of the natural order of things and though, at least from a historical standpoint, there is no clock…the time has come.

Yesterday, January 24, 2026, the ICE-men committed yet another murder under “color” of authority. A European-Amerikan named Alex Pretti was gunned down by uniformed, grim visaged thugs called ICE. Take a moment and think of the acronym itself, lest I be compelled to put the reader on ice. Two weeks before a woman in that same venue, Minneapolis, MN, was also gunned down by ICE. Alex allegedly had a loaded firearm and Renee allegedly used her car to “ram” an ICE agent. Both were 37 years old. Both of them were “white.”

Headlines abound with “The second fatal shooting by ICE in less than a month.” Public outrage has been seismic and the news coverage nationally, and internationally, non-stop and wall to wall. Which is as it should be.

However… this was not the “second fatal shooting by ICE in less than a month.” It was the third. Anyone of the most modest of intellect would have to query: why is the third death (first in an ordinal and chronological sense) ignored? One must query: what is different about the victims? One must query: are any one of the victims of this state sanctioned violence less dead than the other? One must query: did either person’s life have more value than the other? Once these queries are satiated, one must query one’s self.

The Invisible Man Returns: He’ll Be Black Again…and Again…and Again

Exactly one week before the murder of Renee Good, on New Years Eve, a man named Keith Porter was gunned down by an off-duty ICE agent. Even though the agent claims to have identified himself according to the DHS official report, and was familiar with his victim (they lived in the same apartment complex), his self-identification is, and was, moot given he was “off-duty.” He was off doodie alright, and DHS is full of shit.

I was alerted to the murder of Mr. Porter almost immediately; though local news coverage was minimal with virtually no national, let alone international, coverage. Let us suffice it to say that I have contacts. As a chronicler of geopolitical and sociopolitical manifestations (mine and yours), I carefully measured the coverage of this murder as well as the lack thereof.

Shortly after the Renee Good murder, I was privileged, as it were, to speak about the Porter murder on one of the nation’s top radio programs. I had published an article that very day about the ICE-men killing Mr. Porter and mentioned it to the host who is, arguably, one of the most astute and knowledgeable people on radio and a self-identified “progressive.” I might add that he is also a historian, a bestselling author and possesses formidable intellectual horsepower. He had no clue of the Porter killing. Later that day I received several messages from others saying they had not heard of the killing. Most of them were European-Amerikans, but even Black People in the United States have no idea of the killing nor have they ever heard Keith Porter’s name.

You see, Mr. Porter was a 43-year-old Black Man in the United States.

According to the L.A. Times U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer Brian Palacios shot Keith Porter Jr. late on Dec. 31 at a Northridge apartment complex, according to a sworn declaration submitted by attorney Michelle Diaz in a custody dispute between Palacios’ girlfriend and her ex-husband, which was made public Thursday.

The document alleges that Palacios is the shooter “based on information and belief,” citing records and testimony identifying him as an ICE agent who lives in the complex. The court filing made public this week also includes allegations that the Palacios whipped his sons with a belt and made racist and homophobic remarks in the past, according to documents obtained by The Times.

It took many days for DHS to reveal the pig’s identity.

As I read and listened to the events unfolding in Minneapolis yesterday, I became exasperated by the endless loop of MSM pablum. It should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with me that I do not suffer fools well and, eventually, confronted various so-called “news” outlets informing them of my outrage at their “fake” reporting that this was “The second fatal shooting by ICE in less than a month.” They all said the same thing, verbatim and I lit into every, single one of them: CNN, FOX, MSNow, ABC, NBC, CBS, Reuters, and the notorious AP. Of course, none of the cowards responded aside from an automated response, which I knew would be the case. But their collective silence confirmed what I already knew and the reader should already know.

For your viewing pleasure, here is the exact message I sent to all of the aforementioned “fake news” outlets:

Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 12:56:35 PM PST

Subject: Sarah Sidner/ICE Shooting Today

It is 1245 hours PST, and I just heard your correspondent mentioned supra say “this is the third shooting in less than a month, and second fatal shooting by federal agents.” Funny that the week of the most disrespected “holiday” in the United States (MLK Day) and the advent of so-called Black History Month (the shortest month of the year) you seem to have totally ignored the ICE shooting of Keith Porter. Right here in a Los Angeles suburb. Why does he not count? And where is your “outrage?” Why, in the words of Ralph Ellison, is Mr. Porter “The Invisible Man?”

And, finally, do you really represent the fabled “Fourth Estate?” Because from where I sit in the audience, you are no estate...you are an apartment on a month-to-month lease. I dare you to respond as I know you will not, aside from an automated response. But know I exist, as do others like me and, clearly, either to your credit or disgrace, we are watching.

Any prestidigitator will tell you that invisibility is not about being unseen, its operation and effectiveness relies on the refusal of others to recognize the obvious. Those of “us” that practice the black arts are keenly aware of this. Though Keith Porter remains invisible, I will continue to hold up the mirror that renders him visibly invisible.
