As those of us on the plantation known as the United States prepare for the perfunctory MLK Day “is the dream alive” or “has the dream been realized” queries, which kick-off (so to speak) Black History Month, I think it important that we understand why. This lengthy treatise is a culmination of a trinity of separate thoughts on the issue of white supremacy; for before we deal with the secondary and tertiary, we must first deal with the primary. Racism is different from prejudice and bigotry. White supremacy is different from all of the aforementioned, though often incestuous with them. Having said that this is a long read, I absolutely guarantee you that your concept of white supremacy will be altered when you finish…and so will your understanding of it.

I promise. You may even become a different person. Free your mind, and your ass will follow.

Kimba The White Lion: The Linguistics Of White Supremacy (Part I)

Recently there has been an “awakening” of European-Americans pertinent to pernicious racism in the United States; the collective 400-year slumber is no more. I can only hope that they are not sleepwalking. Whatever the case, it is a “teachable moment” for people like me to enhance that awakening and I am here to report for duty with my childhood pal Kimba. In the early ’70s, Kimba was one of my favorite cartoons. Like all cartoons, Kimba had a theme song. Here are the lyrics to “Kimba, the White Lion”:

Who lives down in deepest, darkest Africa?
Who’s the one who brought the jungle fame?
Who’s the king of animals in Africa?
Kimba, the White Lion is his name.

When we get in trouble and we’re in a fight
Who’s the one who just won’t turn and run?
Who believes in doing good and doing right?
Kimba, the White Lion is the one.

He’s the greatest leader there’s no doubt of it,
He’s the one we count on night and day.
When there’s danger, he can get us out of it,
Kimba, the White Lion, leads the way.

Sticking with the animal kingdom (and cartoons) there are the Wikipedia descriptions of those most iconic of children’s cartoon characters, Donald and Daffy Duck. Donald Duck “is a white duck”. Donald’s two dominant personality traits are his short temper and positive outlook on life. Donald almost never intends to hurt anyone. Donald is Mickey’s best friend. Daffy Duck “is a black duck”. A wild and zany screwball, often arrogant.

It is advised that if one is approached by a brown bear to curl up and play dead. On the other hand, if approached by a black bear it is advised that one fight back. “Use anything and everything as a weapon- rocks, sticks, fists, and your teeth. Aim your blows on the bear’s face — particularly the eyes and snout. When a black bear sees that their victim is willing to fight to the death, they’ll usually just give up.” Interesting.

As an amplification to the aforementioned, all things white are “great”. There is the Great White Tiger. The Great White Shark. The Great White Ape. In Herman Melville’s “Great American Novel” Moby Dick, it was a Great White Whale that bit off a portion of Ahab’s leg. Of course, all of these animals are pursued by the Great White Hunter.

White “greatness” is not limited to the animal kingdom any more than black undesirability and negativity is. A few days ago I had occasion to notice the posts on my daughter’s car battery. The posts are demarcated by two colors, red and black. The red post is the “positive” post while the black one is the “negative” post.

The bible is a wealth of white greatness and the imagery thereof. If one were to search the term “angel” virtually every image that pops up is a winged white person, which only makes sense since the term comes from the word Anglia, or Anglo. The twelve disciples of Jesus were all white; apparently so was Jesus himself. As a matter of fact, the only character/entity of the bible that is depicted as having dark, reddish-brown skin is Satan and though I would be considered by some “black as sin” this is no “little white lie” lest I be “blackballed” for pointing it out. God forbid I perpetuate my destiny as the “black sheep”.

When I was about five years old I had a pair of six-shooter cap pistols and so did my neighbor Larry. Larry and I were the same age. He had a Chinese mother, a white father and we were best buddies. If you saw one of us you saw the other. One day we were playing cowboys and I had on one of those tin sheriff’s badges. Since I had the badge, and subsequent to our gunfight, I told Larry, “Put your hands up! I’m taking you in.” Larry stopped and looked at me incredulously and said, “You can’t be the sheriff. You are black and I am white and everybody knows that good guys wear white.” A day of enlightenment I shall never forget; out of the mouths of babes.

Children learn as toddlers that the best things are white. Santa Claus is white. Batman is white. Aquaman is white. Superman, the baddest man ever because he could fly, is white; the original SuperFly. Jesus may have walked on water but Superman could fly.

White cakes are “angel food” while their dark counterpart is “devil’s food”. One of the world’s most expensive food ingredients are truffles (which I love). However, black truffle is considered inferior to its white-truffle counterpart though it sells for about $1,200 per pound. On the other hand, the white truffle is upwards of $6,000 per pound.

In “western culture” white is worn at weddings to symbolize chastity and “purity”. Weddings are considered happy events though I say it all depends. At the polar opposite of weddings are funerals. In “western culture” black is the color of mourning and is worn to funerals. Ironically, in most of the world white is worn to funerals and by those in mourning.

Currently there is much “discussion” about police brutality and it incessantly being a part of the lives of Black People in America. Police in the United States devolved, evolved, or revolved from something called “slave patrols” and I suspect I need not expound on what that was. I hope that while European-Americans are awake that they ask themselves why those patrol cars are black and white and are referred to as same. I mentioned that to a European-American fellow not long ago and he rather self-righteously stated “that’s just the color of the cars!”. There was nothing I could add. Even police departments with cars that are a different color euphemistically refer to them as “black and whites”. As a police recruit, one spends a great deal of time with the rangemaster and just like those patrol cars the silhouette targets that you fire on are a black human-shaped silhouette against a white background. Think long and hard about that while you are awake and before lapsing back into a coma, white America.

Any psychologist or counter-intelligence professional will validate that this type of literal and linguistic psycho-social bombardment has a major effect on those subjected to it. By the time a child starts kindergarten in the United States that child has been firmly inculcated with terminology and imagery that subliminally gives them a sense of white supremacy and black inferiority or negativity. That is a fact that no half-educated person can argue and it matters not the child’s ethnicity.

White supremacy is a state of mind; it is not an act and until the inhabitants of the United States seriously understand the depth of this disease it will not be cured but continue to be a perennial masterbational psycho-social group grope and exercise in futility. There will be no significant change because that would require that the United States become an entirely different country, which is not going to happen without a great deal of human misery.

Hyphens And Three Worlds: The Linguistics Of White Supremacy (Part II)

Recently, I have referenced “white” people in the United States as European-Americans and I will continue to refer to them as such because that is what they are. Nonetheless, I have received a great deal of unspoken flak for using the term which rather surprised me given that this global minority has absolutely no problem hyphenating everyone else. The original inhabitants of the United States are even hyphenated. This is a not so subtle, insidious and pervasive facilitation of the Linguistics of White Supremacy and, thusly, white supremacy itself. Its impetus is extremely malignant, albeit clever.

European-Americans refer to the original Americans as “Native-Americans”. Then there are Asian-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Latin-Americans, Indian-Americans, Arab-Americans and then the most interesting of the hyphenated Americans, African-Americans. I have memorialized my precise thoughts on the “African-American” moniker in several past columns for the term is as infinitely fascinating as it is problematic in its blatant purpose which I shall delve into further momentarily.

Language is the most powerful tool that humans possess. It is how our thoughts come to us and, generally speaking, our thoughts precede and dictate our actions. It is how the human brain functions at a most basic and primal level. If I, as a human, could have mastery of one thing in the universe it would be language. It is the awesome force of language that is the causal factor for European-Americans squirming in their seats upon the same rule being applied to them that they apply to everyone else. They bristle at being called European-Americans because being called “white” is very important for many reasons; the first of which is survival.

British-Americans do not exist in any real way in the United States; they are just “white”. Australian-Americans are just “white”. Being “white” is all inclusive no matter where you come from: other stolen continents, other countries, etc. This creates a sense of global family and dominance even though (and because) the European white descendant is approximately twelve percent of the world’s population. Nine out of ten of the inhabitants of earth are people that are Black, Red, Brown and Yellow; an overwhelming landslide of a majority. That is why language, particularly English, is weaponized. Not only are “white” people a global minority, they are a minority in many venues of the United States; in Los Angeles county they are less than thirty percent of the population. Yet, it is paramount that everyone else be referred to as a “minority”. This is what I call Linguistic Mind Copulation (LMC).

The African-American Conundrum

Well known actress Charlize Theron is from the country of South Africa but she is considered “white”. She is an African-American if there ever was one yet she escapes the designation. Prominent politician Kamala Harris is considered African-American despite the fact that her maternal ancestry is from India and paternal ancestry from Jamaica. The 44th President of the United States was a product of a “white” mother and a father from Kenya and just as in the case with actress Charlize Theron he was truly an African-American, or was he? Why is the other half of him, the “white” part, left out? I have never, at least not yet, been to Africa and my maternal great grandmother was a “Native-American” but I am African-American according to the nefarious, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent cabal that ordains these designations.

I have often mentioned the century old changes in the birth certificates of my family members. My parents birth certificates stated “Colored”. My birth certificate says “Negro”. My children’s birth certificates state “Black”. This is particularly interesting in the case of my youngest child who had a “white” egg donor. Within the previous designations, there are sub-designations such as mulatto, quadroon, quintroon and octoroon (think baboon). A linguistically torturous existence for all and a prima facie example of the inability of the United States to confront its crimes with any intellectual honesty.

I am relatively certain that if my children were born today that their birth certificates would designate them as African-American. Black People in America are the only people in the history of the world to have such odd designations that morph from time to time. Why is this so?

The reality is that all of these linguistic contortions are attempts to say “Nigger” without actually saying it. It is imperative that Black People in America be marginalized and separated from the larger, overwhelming world majority. Just as “white” is amorphous to all whites globally, if I am black I am amorphous to all blacks globally and that is power. So a man thinks, so he is and the language tells the tale; it always does.

One World

There are almost 8 billion people on this solitary blue planet we call Earth and there are other planets or “worlds” in our galaxy. Of course, we find our planet the most interesting for many reasons with the most prominent being that it appears to be the only world with “life” on it. Fascinating though that is, Earth is fascinating for another less preeminent reason and that is that it appears to be the only planet with various worlds within it. These worlds within a world are another example of the Linguistics of White Supremacy. There are three worlds within the world of Earth, all assigned by the minority that calls the majority a minority.

I will make this brutally simplistic. The “first” world is anywhere there are white people dominating. That of course means Europe, the point of origin and every other continent that has been occupied through incredible violence: North America, Australia, New Zealand and so-called South Africa. In each case the Melanic people were decimated and the natural resources pilfered. North America stands out in that it has a common border with a “third” world nation to its south and that is Mexico and, of course, has the dubious distinction of kidnapping, exporting, enslaving, and raping the African “capital” that created it.

The “second” world is, basically, Asia while the “third” world is wherever there are darker colored people. Essentially, the darker your skin the lower your “world” and just like the African-American moniker there is no consultation as to who makes these linguistic decisions; the definition of terms is totally subjective. The greatest irony of the “third” world is that it is the world’s wealthiest in terms of natural resources. The natural resources of South America and Africa alone, both tapped and untapped, dwarf those of the rest of the world combined. Yet, both are in the “third” world.

This is the second installment of a three part series. I have written it because the incessant “discussions on race” are useless if underlying thought processes and attitudes that perpetuate the malady are not exposed. Talk of “defunding” the police and “reforming” the police are pointless if the attitudes of the police, and more importantly the population, remain the same. The attitudes are formed by language and imagery. Reforming the police is social origami, for I can fold a piece of paper into a bird, fish or dog and though it is of different shape it remains a piece of paper.

I believe that there are those of all ethnicities who mean well but truly do not know how deeply embedded white supremacy is. If the “awakening” is genuine the newly awakened had better understand that the dismantling of white supremacy is a monstrously heavy lift. It will be neither easy, peaceful, convenient nor comfortable and will require a level of courage that heretofore has been lacking by all concerned.

Go F.U.N.D. Me: The Linguistics of White Supremacy (Part III/Epilogue)

White Supremacy’s F.U.N.D.

As an epilogue to this triumvirate, it is my sincere hope that it is the most powerful in that it adequately compliments its predecessors. If I am successful and the reader has read the first two chapters, I need say no more.

There is much lore about the “power of three” and why things come in threes, from fortune to bad luck; from Confucius to the Bible (in which the number three appears 467 times) the “trinity” is, apparently, mystical. Lofty bloviating, on my part, notwithstanding, I am simply adhering to my formal training and what has been established to be true, and that is three bullet points drive home the message more effectively than two or four. The Rule of Three is a powerful technique or principle required for writing or speaking. It states that any ideas, thoughts, events, characters or sentences that are presented in threes are more effective and memorable.

As usual, I am consigned to reminding the world that white supremacy is not a thing, it is not a word (though words precede thoughts and thoughts precede actions) it is not a symbol, it is not a place, it is not a particular act, it is not a political party or religion; it is a state of mind. The other things are simply paraphernalia, accoutrements, and symptoms of the metastasizing cancer. As such, white supremacy is neither peculiar nor partial to those it infects as is the case with most dis-eases. Many so-called “People of Color” in the United States, and beyond, are white supremacists and don’t even know it. Anyone can be a white supremacist. Supreme Court Justice Clarence “Uncle” Thomas is a quintessential example of this fact.

White supremacy is different from being racist, prejudiced or bigoted. While all racists are white supremacists, not all white supremacists are racist, as racism implies power. For instance: a firearm is defined as any device that expels a projectile through explosion or combustion; while all guns are firearms, not all firearms are guns (i.e. hand grenades and bombs). Of course, given the overwhelming ignorance and miseducation of the aggregate U.S. population it is no wonder that they neither realize the distinction, nor difference, of the terms.

I give you my word that if you have read all three of these installments, you will understand what white supremacy really is and why anyone can be a white supremacist and, if they reside in the United States in particular, likely is. Only those of us who have been “debriefed” or deprogrammed might escape the bane.

There are six words starting with four letters of the alphabet that without, white supremacy would be non-existent. They are the letters “F”. The letter “U” (don’t do it, I know where your mind wants to take you). The letter “N” and the letter “D”. I shall, now, elucidate and expound further.

The letter “F”

From time to time, I listen to right-wing (white-wing) radio simply because it often provides me with solidification of the facts, and validation of my observances and theories. It also, unlike the so-called “liberal” media, gives me an honest take on what my antagonists are really thinking. A couple of years ago, I was listening to a well-known right-wing, blatantly racist, talk show host with the initials D.P. D.P is proudly Jewish and that is not an “Anti-Semitic” remark nor is it meant to be as I am definitely proudly Blackish. It is a fact that he regularly mentions on his program and, frankly, adds to the irony of his commentary. I shall dare not sully my article by mentioning the pathetic excuse for an earthling’s name for those in the know, know.

In any event this individual said, in a most braggadocious manner, “the white man invented freedom”. I damn near fainted. I damn near fainted not because I was appalled at what he said, I damn near fainted because what he stated was true! The man said “invented” and when one considers the concept, no other people in the world have ever espoused, or talked about, “freedom” (except slaves). Why? Because they did not have to. All of the world’s people, which were and are 90%, melanic, viewed land as something owned by the community as opposed to an individual. Europeans, on the other hand, believe that freedom can be garnered through the sole individual ownership of areas of land.

The verbal parent of “Freedom” is the word “Free”. The European constantly talks about “free” and that is exactly what he means. Free enterprise. The Free market. Free elections. Freeway. Freemasonry. On and on it goes, ad nauseam, and aside from this global minority the term is almost non-existent. The definition as an adjective of “Free” is “without cost or payment, free of charge, for nothing, complimentary and gratis.” You are reading this column because you are of considerable intelligence, so I want you to marinate in these revelations with long, long thoughts after we are finished here. For now, we must get to the second “F” (buy one, get one free)

The second ‘F” is the word “found”. Founding fathers. Newfoundland. Foundation (Found-Nation?). The definition of “Found” is “having been discovered by chance or unexpectedly.” The word “Fund” is related to “found”. Should one be inclined to research the use of the term it is almost exclusively part of the European lexicon. Those with the intellectual horsepower to assimilate data know exactly what I am getting at; those that cannot don’t need to. This is also why the European has, with excruciating violence, demanded that his “English” language become predominant and found it necessary to commit linguistic and cultural genocide.

Another reason was the global majority’s languages were too complex for the average flat-tongued European to comprehend, let alone speak. In the case of the enslaved African there was a tertiary reason and that was given the way he was treated, and his condition, the European had to make sure that we were not communicating in a manner he could not understand. This also factored into why it was a crime to teach us to read and write; a legacy that continues to this very day.

The Letter “U”

Almost exclusively the words “United” and “Union” are the parlance of the European. Wherever and whenever these terms are encountered, from a geo-political standpoint, the European is present at the scene of the crime. United States. Union versus confederacy. European Union. United Kingdom. United Nations. United Arab Emirates. State of The Union. United we stand. Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (defunct).

The two largest, and wealthiest in terms of natural resources, continents on earth are Asia and Africa. The word does not appear in any significance in Asia, at all. And though there is the “African Union” established in 1963, it is a direct manifestation of colonialism and the crimes that were resultant of it. The European’s fingerprints are all over the crime scene.

The term “United” is defined as “relating to or produced by joint action.” This is very significant when one considers that the European, and his descendants, are a mere 12% of the world’s population which makes him vastly outnumbered. Therefore, the need of the European to be or appear “united” is existential; it is survival, particularly given his penchant towards fear, violence, greed and theft.

“United” is essential to the Anglosphere which is a group of English-speaking nations that share cultural or historical ties with England, and which today maintain close political, diplomatic and military co-operation. The Anglosphere is currently defined by the Five Eyes, an English-speaking intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. All of which are places the European does not come from (with the exception of the UK), yet governs/claims and that governance is a product of extreme violence, abject brutality, genocide, enslavement, theft and, resultantly, white supremacy.

The Letter “N”

At our white supremacist linguistic crime scene, we have the word “New”. New York (York is a walled city in northeast England that was founded by the ancient Romans). New England (speaks for itself). New Hampshire (Hampshire is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in western South East England on the coast of the English Channel). New South Wales (Wales is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. New South Wales, commonly abbreviated as NSW is a state on the east coast of Australia). New Britain (Canada). New Caledonia (Caledonia was the Latin name used by the Roman Empire to refer to the part of Great Britain that lies north of the River Forth, which includes most of the land area of Scotland. New Caledonia is a French territory comprising dozens of islands in the South Pacific).

The definition of the word “New” is “already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time”. These locales were not New to the original people that inhabited them for millennia. Everywhere you see the word New, interchange it with the word stolen (from melanic people). I guess, in the mind of the European, what’s old is New, again. No other people on earth have ever done such a thing. The New World; Brave New World.

The Letter “D”

Finally, we get to “Discover” our final “Discovery” at the white supremacist linguistic crime scene. The definition of discover is “to find something or someone unexpectedly in the course of a search.”

I once had a white boy tell me that “Benjamin Franklin invented electricity”. This is how white supremacy works. That arrogant, illiterate cretin didn’t even realize what he was saying. I corrected him and said “you mean discover” (which is almost equally ridiculous because electricity existed before humans did).

In any event, white supremacist linguistics are chocked full of the words discover and discovery. Columbus “dis-covered America” despite his navigational incompetence. First of all the dumb motherfather thought he was in India/Asia and to this day white supremacists refer to my Original American ancestors as “Indians” yet have the nerve to get uptight when I, rightfully, refer to them as European-Americans. On the other hand, I guess I should take it easy on old Chris; after all he was only eleven-and-a-half-thousand miles off course.

Constantly, one hears, reads or is inculcated with the mantra a “white” man “discovered” this and that. Rarely is the term applied to the worlds majority that had advanced civilizations dating back thousands of years. The world’s first university was located in Africa. Africa is where many of the “Greek philosophers” went to study (including Plato); they were not the students of other Europeans.

There were mathematicians, scientists, astronomers, engineers and philosophers in existence when the European was still wearing animal skins, living in caves, relieving himself in bushes and eating with his hands; truth be told. And without Africa, war, racism and violence the European would have nothing, zero. The one thing that made, and makes, the European so unique is his implementation of, and lust for, violence. Period, paragraph.

Like the terms referenced supra, dis-cover and discovery are almost the exclusive purview of the European/white supremacist lexicon. In fact the European has an entire “age of discovery”. The “age of discovery” was a period from approximately the 15th century to the 17th century in European his-story in which seafaring Europeans explored, colonized (meaning the subjugation and genocide of melanic peoples) and conquered (meaning incredible violence) regions across the globe. The Portuguese and Spanish were at the forefront, later joined by the Dutch, English and French. It also marks an increased adoption of colonialism as a government policy in several European states.

There it is, a Free United New Discovery.

Strike three, I’m out.
