The Dual Edged Sword: Trump's Conviction and Resurrection
There Can Be No Better Example of the Political Duopoly in the United States
The American Mind Fuck (AMF) is a both a quite many and splendored thing.
Like “love.”
I have a dream.
In my more intellectually gentlemanly days (long past), I coined the term for the aforementioned malady Linguistic Mind Copulation (LMC). Nonetheless, as a writer, one must be vigilantly cognizant of verbal economy; some of the reasons which might surprise you, and five syllables are sexier than eight depending upon prevailing linguistic strategy. Perchance, did that first sentence offend, upset, frighten, threaten, shock, and/or chagrin you? Did it catch you off-guard?

It was not, by any means, my intent to appear snarkish as I don’t generally do snark. I do facts and if the facts lend themselves to snark, then snark it shall be. But this is a piece which became demonic and wrote itself at the first keystroke. The vast majority of times I contemplate my writing and, like lauded poet Ralph Waldo Emerson, think “long, long, thoughts.”
However, having known two or three brilliant poets, my long, long thoughts are much different from theirs for poets are special creatures. A most intimidating and formidable sensorial, literary, journalistic and cognitively advanced snuggle from which I am predestined to be ostracized. Thusly I, for better, likely worse, am not one of them.
As one poet once admonished me “don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.” I was struck, dumbfounded and muted by her sophistry as I was but a relative tadpole then, though it were a mere 20 years ago. As the bullfrog at the stage of maturation that I am now, I would have barked back and said, “That’s exactly why I hate you M.F.!” She may someday, and likely, read this and heartily laugh with copious glee because she is aware that I am devoid of artistic beauty and you, henceforth, would be more than wise not to expect any. Just don’t do it.
Today, for the first time in its relatively brief history, the United States crossed the sociopolitical Rubicon and relinquished criminal charges pertinent to one of its presidents to a jury for deliberation. A breathtaking development for reasons beyond the obvious. Inasmuch as I would enjoy the intimacy of delving into such nuance, let me suffice it to state that the United States is a criminal enterprise and has been from its inception. It is the world’s gangbanger.
“Red” states, “blue” states, Crips and Bloods. Or, as it is known by those who know “Crabs and Slobs.” The “gang of eight” in the U.S. legislative bodies. If you don’t know that, you don’t know your own history, you are mentally mismanufactured beyond repair and your mother dresses you funny. Best you breeze homey, ‘cause you are in the wrong hood and your ass might come up missing around here.
Now that whatever basket of denialistic deplorables has been properly disposed of and eradicated we (those of us who remain) shall now get down to brass tacks.
I am not an attorney, though I have extensive training in litigation. That is a long story that would be as meandering as was the closing argument of Donald Trump’s lawyers. In any event, you’ll have to trust that I know my way around a courtroom. Like many things in my life, it is not a skill I sought to have but I dictate nothing to life, it dictates to me.
Requisite disclaimer notwithstanding, I anticipate Trump will be found guilty of at least some of the charges against him. Now, bear in mind, just because one is found guilty of something and convicted does not mean they are actually guilty of that offense. People “plea out” pre-trial everyday by the thousands in the United States due to inadequate counsel, corrupt judiciary (look at your supreme court) coercion, threats, racism and a plethora of other unsavory realities. Even post-trial it is a known fact that people have been executed by the state that were innocent, and they exist today.
I am not remotely inferring that Donald Trump, whom I unaffectionately call Agent Orange, is “innocent.” I suggest no such thing as that would be indicative of my having a brain tumor the size of a goddamned watermelon. I am simply stating the iron-clad, bulletproof fact that people are often found “guilty” for reasons other than the actual commission of a crime.
Watermelon (melanin). Melania. Cantaloupe, orange melon.
Heh-heh.
I suspect Trump to be found guilty because of one overwhelming litigious elephant in the room and that is this: the Democrats impeached Trump twice, he was acquitted twice. He was found “liable” in a civil trial but that is a horse of a different color (couldn’t resist that one). The Democrats cannot possibly allow Trump to be able to state a third significant legal victory. They cannot do it.
Now, this is where things get complicated.
Every significant position I have had in life is because I “knew someone.” That is, by absolutely no means, suggesting that I lacked qualification, merit or talent. What it does mean is that nothing happens in a vacuum in the United States. Anyone suggesting that this case is not motivated by politics has their head so far up their ass they’ll require a tow truck to pull it out. Further, just because the case is politically motivated does not preclude it from being substantive.
I call balls and strikes.
The venue, the judge, the jury, the litigants, even the timing, are all choreographed. Just as they will be when Trump appeals his conviction (which he will, again, likely lose) and the case goes to the supreme court where he is absolutely, positively, sure as shit stinketh going to win. And don’t you dare think he doesn’t know it. In fact, he is counting on it.
I find myself vacillating back and forth as to whether or not the Democrats are purposefully trying to get Trump elected. These charges and half-assed indictments are only fueling his campaign. They are also putting a whole lot of people in danger (especially ones that look like me and my children). Ralph Waldo Emerson, as you may have gathered, is one of my favorite poets, though not the favorite. That, mein freund, is a secret. My literary preferences and quirks notwithstanding, Emerson said "When you strike at a king, you must kill him."
Why were there no cameras in the courtroom? Just for the record, know that I know how corrupt the court system is as it mirrors everything else in the society. Thusly, I am a staunch believer in courtroom monitoring and transparency with the exception of litigation involving children and/or sexual crimes.
Donald Trump defies the limited lexicon in terms of descriptive verbiage that I might employ in some feeble attempt to covey my contempt for him, but I also have contempt for most politicians. Donald Trump will be found guilty (likely Friday). The Democrats know that, ultimately, his conviction will be overturned. Oh, they know.
So, the question becomes, is this all about keeping him off of the campaign trail until the election to somehow weaken him? Is that strategy working? Are the Democrats wanting him to win with some deeper, more sinister (or honorable) downrange electoral strategy? Is this about international relations? Coming war? Raytheon? A domestic meltdown and collapsed economy? Gavin Newsome? Or do the Democrats really believe that Trump will succumb to relentless litigious body-blows and eventually the head will die? Are they even that smart, or dumb?
If you have never boxed or been in hand-to-hand combat you might wish to research the effect of body-blows.
Any, and all, criminal convictions of Donald Trump will be reversed. He owns the federal courts (especially the one that is government’s most potent branch). His base is solid. They will only martyr him more and his coffers will continue to go through the roof. Each prosecution will be seen as a persecution and, like the alabaster, yellow-haired Jesus descending down a golden escalator form heaven, he will be resurrected. He will be seen as having been crucified and risen from the dead.
Trump needs to be held to answer and made accountable for his shenanigans and crimes. I mean, he has killed people but no more or less murderous that those before him. He has also kidnapped 340 million people some of whom are afraid of him, others that work in the military and law-enforcement that adore him. Trump also should be protected from malicious prosecution.
In the final analysis, this is not going to hurt Trump politically. It will have the opposite effect. It will strengthen him Therefore, the question is: what is the gambit?
I stand corrected: this ain’t no “Crapshow” this is a shitstorm.
You imply that you are not a poet.
"Watermelon (melanin). Melania. Cantaloupe, orange melon.
"Heh-heh."
I beg to differ.
