The perpetual whipping "boy" of this society is, and always has been, the Black Man. The sole societal incubus for all that is dubious therein; even when it comes to Donald "Agent Orange" Trump.

Those unfortunate, yet enlightened, souls that read my work on a regular basis know that in terms of U.S. politics I perpetually state the mantra that "racism, especially Anti-Blackism, is the sexiest thing in U.S. politics.” The idea behind mantras is that truth has power, and speaking something true validates its practical reality. I don’t know if the truth shall set you “free,” but it does meself and I am fully cognizant of the stark fact that “freedom” is far from “liberty.”

In my lifetime, I have not seen the world so deeply troubled. I have been almost deadened by events both domestic and global. I, to my own great peril, am going to filter those domestic and global events through the lens of my experience as a Black Man in the United States over the next few days. Ergo, prepare thyself. Feel free and liberated to deem me a cognitive kamikaze. After all, isn’t that the essence of the dissident?

Be mindful that you and I live in disparate worlds in terms of existence. As a Black Man in the United States, I only “own” two things. Those two things are my manhood and my mind. That is a proverbial, literal and practical "no fly zone." I intend to maintain ownership of these paltry possessions until departing this dimension and you, absolutely, may not coopt, burglarize, extort, pilfer, steal, take possession nor commandeer them from me.

Over my stinking “cold dead hands” shall it manifest.

Black Men in the United States have been subjected to 500 years of misandry and abject brutality. For 500 years told "now is not the time." Called “boy” in front of their mothers, sisters and children. Relegated to dancing and singing as opposed to cognition and intellect.

Subject to "buck breaking” (being homosexually raped in front of others). Subject to watching their women, including their female children, being raped in front of them. Subject to their little girls being bombed while in Sunday school (let alone what happens to their little boys) and terrorized into a complacent social castration that denies them not only justice, but the privilege of being resultantly angry.

Subject to the deployment of chemical weapons. Subject to medical experimentation. Subject to being boiled alive in “hot-sugar juice.” Subject to lynching. Subject to emasculation. Subject to humiliation unparalleled in modern history. Subject to genocide through mass incarceration (for one cannot reproduce when imprisoned for life at age 19 or 20 and imprisonment, legally, is slavery). Subject to shit no other human being on Earth has endured. “Tis a miracle we are still standing, however pitifully.

If you are not a part and parcel to these atrocities (and that is what they are) you have neither standing nor frame of reference. The European pontificates and espouses "democracy" but the most democratic thing in the world seems to be that which he/she despises which is the truth. Truth be told.

As Jack Nicholson said in his seminal role as “The Joker” from the Batman movie (while dining with Kim Basinger), “I’m in trouble now.”

Beauty and Brains, Brains and Balls, on The Island

“Beauty and brains” means that the person referenced is both physically beautiful and mentally intelligent. This European-American male misogynistic trope assumes that if someone is beautiful then that means they are likely unintelligent, and vice versa. Originally coined as a reference to “dumb blonde” European females, it is a phrase which emphasizes that the individual in question possesses both of these characteristics, however unlikely in the wee mind of the utterer.

Black is beautiful. It is elegant, as exemplified in a “black-tie affair” or the “little black dress.” It is mysterious, especially to you. It is frightening, supernatural and magical, especially to you. It is authoritative; that is why your judges, priests, pilots and police don it. It has a psychological impact like no other color and subliminal cueing is a bad M.F. No one has mastered this science better than the palefaced one, albeit to my admitted chagrin and, possibly, envy. Nevertheless, don’t hate me because I’m beautiful whilst being simultaneously “scary.”

Especially to you.

Now comes the bad news.

Given, as previously articulated, that the Black Man on The Island (United States) has true ownership of only two things, let us not equate a “mind” with a brain; because one can be anatomically equipped with a brain yet absent a mind. On the other hand, one cannot have a mind absent a brain. The two should not be conflated anymore than “manhood” should be confused with a set of balls (testicles). Manhood is less an anatomical function than it is a spiritual one. It cannot be taught, it must be learned.

I have three daughters. I will burn in eternal hell for either of them (especially the baby, whom I raised from birth alone). I am the polar opposite of what I understand to be a "misogynist." In embarrassingly candid fact, women have always been my Waterloo. I can think of a plethora of them that I would love to see run things; not just here, but all over the world.

Having said that, a vagina does not equate to absolution anymore than a penis does and there are as many objectionable women as there are men. It seems that the perpetual whipping "boy" of this society is always the Black Man. What I see being done, by both parties, is a vilification of Black men ala Willie Horton, “superpredators” (Hillary Clinton) and “predators beyond the pale” (Joe Biden). Trump talking about “thugs” and the Democrats inferring that Black Men that may vote for Trump “threaten democracy” and like “tough-talking, loud mouthed bullies.” Same shit, different smell.

There are Arabs (in droves) that support Trump (especially the men), Asian men and, in particular, Latino men. Why is it that they are not being subjected to the same treatment, haranguing and damning rhetoric? Does anyone reading this truly believe that the Black Man in the United States is so woefully ignorant that we don’t wince at the veiled threat?

I probably should not have proffered that query for I know the true answer.

Generally speaking, I do not subscribe to the meme that any proud Black Man in the United States is enamored with Donald Trump (fools, madmen and idiots notwithstanding). Some Black Men in the United States do appear to be threatened by a Democrat party that takes them for granted, lies to them in perpetuum and, most importantly, espouses a platform and philosophy that wishes to rob them of the only two things they own. That denigrates Black Manhood and masculinity. That tells them how to think (taking the mind). That ostracizes and demonizes them for being heterosexual. This is part of the genocide, as genocide takes on many forms and we get them all.

My ire, here, is resultant of recent political commentary as well as my own interactions with several people regarding Black People in the United States (BPITUS) that intend to vote for Donald Trump; particularly Black Men. This prevailing and cancerous rhetoric reached a critical point with me 72 hours ago. For the sake of journalistic economy, I will forego the exact origins of this catalyst. Many of you may have seen the movie Django. Django is the word that I use to describe a black overseer, better known as an Uncle Tom. We see this constantly. The most readily available example is when one of the ubiquitous police-y murders occurs of a BPITUS the first thing the European does is trot out a Negro in blackface. This is because we are to be so shallow, ignorant and stupid that we don’t realize the presence of a house nigger. And that is exactly what he/she is because they provide the white boy cover.

This brings me to former President Barack Obama. If you have listened to the genesis of this piece in the recording provided, you are aware that Mr. Obama had some rather harsh words for “brothers” that are considering voting for Trump. He talked about manhood and inferred that Black Men are not supporting Harris because she is a woman. Barack Obama is hardly what I envision when I envision Black masculinity and manhood. What modicum of respect I had for Mr. Obama is now dust in the wind.

First of all, I wish that the world were governed by more women. There are female heads of state all over the globe and, for the most part, their countries do pretty well. And, believe it or not, many of those heads of state wear dresses. No shit.

Black Men in the United States “threaten our democracy” because a few of them are confused enough to vote for Trump (either candidate really)? Black Men in the United States don’t own grocery stores, can’t get liquor licenses (for the most part), can’t acquire gun dealerships, disproportionately represent legal slaves by way of incarceration and have the shortest life expectancy of any other domestic demographic. Yet somehow, through some unknown cosmic machination, voodoo or other Black Magic, he has the power to threaten your democracy?

Spectacular, exquisitely so.

Okay enough jokes, let’s talk about who really threatens your “democracy.” The white boy that paints himself orange is what challenges your democracy. The European-American rednecks, racists and other inbred deplorables that overwhelmingly voted for him threaten your democracy. If your democracy is being threatened it is being threatened by you. Perhaps, assuming you really believe in it, maybe your democracy is in jeopardy because of how you have abused it. You know, use it or lose it.

European-Americans can paternalize as many are wont to do and wish to continue (as in "who's yo daddy") until their brains turn to toothpaste. Nonetheless, be mindful that the mere fact that they think they can dictate to a Black Man, arguably the most disrespected male in this apartheid society, how to think is a perilous road to perdition. This is an "awakening" happening all over the planet Earth by the world’s majority.

The global majority has become immune to intimidation, paternalism, colonialism, violence and fear. It is not lost upon me that since her nomination Kamala Harris, and the Democrats, have all but abandoned the term “woke.” Don’t catch you fooling you, because you sure as hell are not fooling me.

I am always haunted by Donald Trump saying in 2016 to BPITUS (Black People in the United States) "why not vote for me, what have you got to lose?" What European-Americans have failed, and refused, to realize is that one cannot fall off of the ground and though "despair" may not be an option, disgust is. This is our reality and, for many, is our calculus. IF the Black Man in the United States does not show love and respect to himself and those like him, no one else will.

That stark reality, of all things, is what we must come to grips with.
