One of my greatest worries is that all continue, whether pro or con, to focus on the man, the entity, that is Smitty Trump himself.
Thumping On Smitty
Were this a truly or even remotely intelligent society (or modestly erudite), irrespective of whatever embarrassing latency, the focus would be on the system that produced Smitty. That is my biggest concern because it is a societal manifestation that shows intellectual cowardice. The nations that have the most intelligent and educated populaces are the new "superpowers." "US" ain't one of them because it is a sociopolitical model based on mass ignorance fueled by greed, enforced by violence and tangibly perpetuated by the greatest two instruments with which to do so: education and media.
This is the global paradigm shift that threatens idiots and scares the living feces out of the smart people within “US.”
Then again, I am not you, yours is not ours; and we sure as hell ain’t “US.” To assume such folly is to play a stupid game. When one plays stupid games, one gets stupid prizes.
The Epitaph of “US”
I have never done real well with death, even though I have experienced a lot of it and am fully aware that it is just a transitioning. In that, I find both comfort and fearlessness pursuant to earthly mortality. My problem with death is that my beloved is no longer accessible to me…in a certain dimension. Ergo longing, ergo grief.
Because I am here, they are there.
The United States (“US”) is being forewarned, though I fear it is much too late. The sheer violence on which it has depended for hegemony and survival has been rendered irrelevant. In fact, it has been openly resisted, reconciled and rebuked. The microprocessor has made every nation on this planet capable of inflicting massive damage to another. Luckily, most of the world’s people tend to not be murderously greedy.
It was racist, slaver, pedophile and “US” President Thomas Jefferson who so succinctly, eloquently and chillingly said "Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.” He wrote it in reference to slavery and the potential consequences of perpetuating injustice. Jefferson expressed concern that God's justice would eventually catch up with the nation for its practice of slavery.
The die that is “Smitty” Trump was cast four centuries ago. Until this nation grapples with it’s history, brutality, criminality, systems, institutions, mindsets, and legacy it is forlorn at best. As long as it opts for cowardice, lack of social responsibility and blames a singular individual for representing the rot that is within, it will perish.
It will perish; and violently. The very nature of the nation is based, and built, upon corruption, exploitation, violence and ignorance. Trump is a symptom, he is not the disease and the abject failure among the “US” population to be savvy enough to realize this fact guarantees more Smittys to come and a one-way ticket on the road to perdition.
Also known as The Highway to Hell.
I agree that trump is just a symptom and behind him lies the true sickness that has been accumulating for decades. Thank you for your thoughtful expressive writing, I appreciate you
Hi Rohn - There are times when this old white lady doesn’t want to agree with you, but knows that you probably aren’t wrong. Today I know that what you are saying is the truth. We are in a world of hurt of our own making.
